We are an all-volunteer group that is in it for the love of it. Every bit of financial support that we receive from you supports our work in building an extraordinary literary culture in Detroit.

With your support, we can bring new and diverse voices to a larger Detroit audience.

Please consider donating today to this effort. Thanks to a $5,000 matching grant from Knight Arts Challenge, your impact will be doubled: $100 becomes $200, going twice as far in making our Motor Signal Reading Series sing.

We don’t receive the full grant until we make the match. We need your support today!

If you would like your donation to be tax deductible, it must be delivered by check, made out to “The Miami Foundation” with “Literary Detroit” marked in the memo line. Checks may be mailed to Literary Detroit at 7417 2nd Avenue, Apt. G4; Detroit, MI 48202. We are not a nonprofit, but we are proud to partner with the Miami Foundation as our fiscal sponsor. Because we have zero overhead, 100% of your donation supports programming.

In return for your support, in addition to our profound gratitude, here is what you will receive:

  • A special invitation to a private celebration held in July 2016 in Detroit for donors and Motor Signal Reading Series artists.
  • Donors at the $50 level and above will be thanked in our event program (every month!)
  • Donors at the $75 level and above will receive a gorgeous suite of broadsides, handmade at Signal-Return Letterpress and featuring the brightest words of our Motor Signal artists

Thank you for your support! We can’t wait to to partner with you to do great things.
