We are igniting a literary democracy at home, where readers have exciting ways of participating in book culture. We are building inclusive dialogues between Detroit and the wider world of readers, authors, thinkers, makers, and storytellers.
Our signature program is the Motor Signal Reading Series. We have also hosted or co-hosted an eclectic range of other interactive literary programs across the city of Detroit, including ghost libraries, a “let’s read the news” discussion series, book swaps, writing retreats, and more
Here’s what others have to say:
- “Literary Scene in Detroit Transforming Thanks to Group’s Efforts” – WDIV
- “Literary Detroit” – Urban Innovation Exchange
- “Give and Get: Literary Detroit Group Launches Book Swap Events” – Deadline Detroit
- “Detroit: From Bankruptcy to Books” – Ozy
